Smart people with common sense, suddenly behave as if they’ve had a lobotomy we didn’t see. What I didn’t like were the inconsistent personality traits of certain characters. Whoever did the score for this did a bang-up job of highlighting every single thing into jump scares. Thanks for the warning on even the smallest of things pal. For the most part, I really enjoyed the complexity this story tried to bring even if it was somewhat odd at times.Įverything about the music is used to cast an ever-increasing sense of doom. ![]() After all, this film is a made-for-TV movie but it feels like it could go there.Īfter that, with the introduction of some paranormal overtones, this film tries to bring some scares and it does manage to raise one or two hairs. Unlike The Cube, I suspected this story wouldn’t turn into a sci-fi film with vicious traps that kill its victims. It gives off a vibe, not unlike the movie The Cube (2013.) At this instant, I wondered if the narration would have any similarities. Meanwhile, the backdrop of a technologically advanced house despite its worn antiquated features is a nice touch. No Escape Room Has Similarities to The Cube Movie Performances range from solid to slightly off which makes it hard to tell if anyone is pretending to be someone they’re not. The fun in any film with this theme is trying to figure out who might be in on it. But of course, it wouldn’t be an escape room movie without it being someone’s birthday. With the addition of dad and daughter, it’s the only room of this type to do something different.
